I currently own my own business, Paint Doctor (Registered as Paint Doctor NM), which repairs light bodywork damage to vehicles. It is a fully mobile service which comes to you to carry out corrections to your fleet. If you click on the logo below, it will link you to a PDF File which contains a flier for my company. Because my company is only new, I hope that you will download a copy of this, and mail it to all your friends, families and colleagues.
The unique selling points of this business are it's fast and efficient repair techniques, and the low cost benefits it brings to my clients. Using SMART repair techniques, some clever technology, and fully VOC compliant products, I can usually repair minor bumper damage in around 2-3 hours, which is a significant time saving when compared to a traditional bodyshop that could take up to 72 hours to complete the same work. Obviously, the immediate advantage to my clients, is that their vehicle is not off the road, and they don't have to do without their car for a few days. The second perk, is that the cost is also dramatically reduced. My repair work is generally about a third of what a traditional body shop would charge. Below are some examples of before and after work.
Honda Civic Repair This vehicle was brought to me, with the front bumper flaking, and covered in surface cracks. The rear bumper was in a similar condition, and the LHS wing had been dented in whatever impact that had damaged the front bumper. I sourced a new pattern part replacement wing, and set about repairing it. The front bumper was sanded down to a smooth finish, and filler applied to the surface cracks - the rear bumper received the same treatment. Both were then put in primer, and the primer was sanded to a silky smooth finish. Both bumpers, and the wing were painted at the same time, and finally a lustrous clear coat was applied.
The owner had been quoted over 1200 Euro by a Cork Bodyshop, but I was able to replace and repair the damaged panels for 420 Euro.
Audi TT Quattro Repair This Coupé had been misfortunate enough to have been reversed into by not just one towbar, but by two, leaving two spherical hollows in the front plastic, and a deteriorated paint finish as a result. The bumper was also peppered in stone chips, so on consultation with the owner, we decided to repaint the whole bumper, rather than the affected area - as he was trying to sell the vehicle, and needed it looking as pristine as possible. Because the plastic had only been deformed recently, it was possible using heat forming techniques, and a dolly set, to remould the plastic into it's original shape. Afterwards, a skim coat of filler was applied to attain the qualities of the original plastic. The entire bumper was then sanded to smooth out the stone chips, and primer applied. The primer was then smoothed with wet&dry paper, paint was mixed, applied, dried, and a deep lacquer coat was applied to give this car the finish the owner clearly desired. Again, this job was finished in about 4 hours, at a cost of 175 Euro - when the owner had previously been quoted 380 for a new bumper, and a further 350 to paint and fit it.
I'm delighted to say that the car has since sold!
MINI Cooper S Petrol Cap Upgrade for Coopers and Ones Here's a very popular upgrade for the owners of MINI Coopers, and MINI Ones - the painting and fitting of a MINI Cooper S Petrol Cap. Main Dealer prices for fitting and painting are known for being above 200 Euro, here's one I did for a 2008 MINI Cooper Clubman for a fraction of that cost.
